Senior Sales Consultant

Hypothesis - Remote - Full time

We’re building a world where people can talk about online content directly at its source, not funneled through a third-party platform. And, we believe users should own their digital reading history, notes, and discussions. We are accomplishing this mission with Hypothesis, our open source, social annotation tool.

Teachers use Hypothesis to gain insights about their students, increase engagement and create collaborative learning environments. Today, more than 300 academic institutions use our tool including the University of California, Michigan, Cornell, Rutgers, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Oxford, and Cambridge.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Sales Consultant to immediately join our growing team to address rapidly expanding demand from academic institutions, departments, faculty and students. In this role, you will take ownership of a specific sales quota, helping to fill the sales funnel by generating and following up on leads, and supporting the company’s overall sales cycle and business processes.

A Day in the Life

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Hypothesis’ features and benefits, support implementations, onboarding, and expanded use
  • Generate leads through both inbound and outbound calls, emails, campaigns, and other business development strategies
  • Convert prospects from cold to warm utilizing effective scripts and other sales techniques
  • Work with a cross-functional team, communicate proactively and resolve issues and answer inquiries from prospective customers
  • Use Hubspot CRM to manage customer deal flow, provide regular progress reports to Management, and track your performance to sales goals,

You Have

  • Five years selling into the education marketplace to instructors or institutions
  • Agility to thrive at an early-stage company and within an evolving sales program
  • Previous experience closing accounts with an understanding of the full sales cycle
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales goals, filling and working a sales pipeline
  • Comfort making cold calls and communicating tech-savvy
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems
  • Accustomed to using HubSpot or a comparable CRM to track progress against goals
