Senior Proposal Writer and Project Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

PowerMyLearning, a national non-profit, is seeking a Senior Proposal Writer and Project Manager who will be responsible for leading proposal management and serve as a project manager for the sales team’s projects. This position will report to the Chief Growth Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal Writer: Create, standardize, manage, and implement the RFP and proposal process for the sales team, including: 

- Create system to screen and manage bidding opportunities o Complete vendor registration forms for RFPs and create a system for managing registrations 

- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Implementation teams to select bidding opportunities and create strategic direction; gather information and language needed to write compelling proposals 

- Write compelling proposals aligned with the specifications of the RFP or funding opportunity 

- Create and maintain a library of proposal language and content for PowerMyLearning’s programs and products 

- Manage the production of final proposals, including formatting, technical editing and reproduction, and submission/mailing

- Track bid and awarded proposals, follow up with district purchasing departments, synthesize win/loss data, and archive submitted proposals 

Project Manager: Serve as a project manager on projects and activities between the sales team and other teams across the organization, such as: 

- coordinate events with the marketing team 

- prepare reports through collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information to inform strategy and activities 

- collect and share customer feedback from the sales team with Marketing, Product and Program teams 

Additional Responsibilities

- Provide copyediting support for proposals and other materials created by the sales team 

- Remain current on industry trends, education research, and competitors to inform proposals and the work of the sales team 

- Create and manage an internal newsletter with key education media clips and research from the K12 field to be distributed across the organization 

QUALIFICATIONS

- Passion for PowerMyLearning’s mission and commitment to living PowerMyLearning’s values: strengthening relationships, advancing equity, embracing learning, and embodying humility 

- Proven experience with at least 3 years in K12 education proposal or grant writing 

- Excellent verbal, written, and communications skills  

- Exceptional attention to detail, adhering to deadlines on time, and formatting proposals and documents 

- Excellent organizational and knowledge management skills with online file sharing systems 

- Proven ability to handle a high volume of requests simultaneously and productively 

-Proactive in new learning including growing in professional practice and engaging in continuous reflection and improvement 

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment within tight deadlines 

- Demonstrated experience with Google Applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat required
