Senior Project Manager, Learning Partnerships

ISTE - Multiple Locations or Remote - Full time

ISTE is seeking a Sr. Project Manager, Learning Partnerships, who is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of ISTE initiatives and is responsible for driving strategy and results for ISTE projects, products, and services. This position is expected to contribute to a dynamic team devoted to advancing teaching and learning through various ISTE projects, products, and services. 

Position-Specific Duties

Project management

  • Ensure that all aspects of project implementation run smoothly.
  • Create project tracking dashboards and reporting documents for both internal and external tracking and communication.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project partners and stakeholders, including project funders and sponsors.
  • Manage and track project budgets, provide regular project financial reports, and follow internal financial processes. Manage, process, and track project invoices, contracts, and expense reimbursements.
  • Make recommendations and deploy processes for improving project efficiencies against project metrics and milestones.
  • Organize and participate in project related meetings, events, and presentations including agenda planning, event setup, and participant outreach. Represent ISTE at select conferences and meetings, including presentations and/or workshops.
  • Facilitate and manage communication between ISTE staff, key project personnel, external liaisons, project participants, vendors and suppliers.
  • Manage and collaborate with external partners and subject matter experts contributing to projects, to ensure timely delivery and quality of work.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate transparently with colleagues across departments to ensure projects progress in a timely manner; be able to sequence tasks and move multiple tasks forward in parallel.

Required skills and dispositions

  • Attentive to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Technical and casual writing skills. Adaptable communication styles suited to different audiences/purposes.
  • Self-directed independent worker, willing to take initiative.
  • Comfortable developing and delivering presentations.
  • Fluent in office applications including documents, spreadsheets, and presentation slides (both Microsoft and Google environments).
  • Comfortable attending to multiple information channels (e.g. notes and chat during a meeting) simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with adult learning systems - including workforce development, adult basic education, and/or community college and higher education preferred.
  • Familiarity with the learning sciences and research methods preferred.
  • Lifelong learner interested in learning new skills and building knowledge in new areas.
  • Mindful about collegial relations, happy to work as part of a team, and can empathize with others to develop better understandings of challenges and solutions.
  • Fluency with database applications (e.g. Salesforce, SQL-based, Hubspot, etc.) and/or statistics packages (e.g. Stata, R) is preferred.

Education and Experience

  • At least five years’ experience working in a project management role.
  • Committed to supporting ideas and practices that support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in K-12 education is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in educational program evaluation or research preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree, or credential-based program in a related field strongly preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
