The perfect Senior Product Marketing Manager candidate will be able to work with product developers, service professionals and engineers and take the information in their product briefs to create engaging, insightful and effective go-to-market plans. The Sr. PMM will focus their attention on the challenges that educators face when thinking about intervention and supplemental solutions that support core instruction, to help solidify and support HMH connected teaching and learning and our digital first messaging to K-12 educators.

The Senior Product Marketing Manager manages the development and launch of marketing campaigns, partners on state adoption submissions, and supports the customer success journey. Alongside product development, sales, support, regional marketing specialists, creative and brand, channel marketing experts, events, and professional learning, you will create cutting edge campaigns and customer-centric positioning. You will be the voice of sales and through market research ensure that you bring the customer voice to all campaigns.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success in either B2B or B2C SaaS-based marketing, Ed Tech, or has been associated with companies serving the education segment. A leader by nature, the candidate will exude the daily energy and optimism needed to communicate product value internally and to the customer, as well as demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Experience driving strategy, executing tactics, and measuring results required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads development of GTM marketing plans, serving as the product ambassador – from conceptualization through execution will deliver compelling, high-impact customer centric campaigns for intervention and supplemental digital solutions.
  • Develops campaigns utilizing cross channel strategy, that include advertising, SEO planning, digital campaigns, social media, creation of webinars, print collateral, and thought leadership content.
  • Utilizes real-time feedback from professional services and customer success to create effective campaigns to increase the customer experience and support renewals and retention goals.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert when collaborating with or training cross-functional teams, especially Sales. Partners with Product Management & Strategy in responding to Sales’ needs and developing and presenting trainings and creates submission materials for state adoptions.

Education and Experience


  • Requires BS/BA in related disciplines with 5+ years of related industry or functional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in educational or similar publishing, within marketing, sales, editorial, consulting, or product management roles, and/or similar experience in an education field. Should be adept at understanding and evaluating KPIs with an eye on the Sales’ goals that the team supports.
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills, including the ability to persuasively present our literacy intervention programs to multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter: Driven to achieving goals, self-study of the programs, competition and marketplace; anticipates needs and takes ownership, exhibits deep understanding of the pedagogy, needs, and challenges faced by the literacy intervention marketplace (students, admins and educators), and is able to translate this understanding into customer-centric marketing strategies and deliverables.
  • Independent thinker with leadership skills grounded in diplomatic communication and solid collaboration skills – able to lead or support as needed.
  • Creative, a problem solver who is flexible and solutions-oriented; can juggle multiple projects and pivot quickly based on internal or external stakeholder needs
  • Able to balance the big picture and attention to detail
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint


  • Minimum of 7 years' marketing experience, M.A. or M.Ed.
  • Experience in Intervention/Striving Readers market
  • Experience in EdTech marketing
  • Experience in creating and executing innovative marketing campaigns through multiple channels that drive demand, including print, digital, and educational.
