EdSurge, the leading source for edtech news, research and events, is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to support our B2B and B2C marketing initiatives and play a pivotal role in the growth of the business.

We’re looking for someone who thinks creatively and is excited to help shape the development and implementation of our digital marketing strategy. This person should have experience implementing digital marketing strategy including email marketing, content marketing, paid advertising and SEO. Ideally, this marketing expert is passionate about education and has a deep understanding of EdSurge’s diverse audience of educators and edtech companies. The marketing team is small which means this role is for someone who loves the idea of rolling up their sleeves and really owning a particular domain (with the support of a team). In this job you will:

  • Shape the development and iteration of digital marketing strategy at EdSurge
  • Advance and implement an effective lead generation strategy for various products and customers
  • Own a diverse set of marketing programs from start to finish
  • Create and manage the creation of original content aligned with the marketing strategy
  • Brainstorm, build and optimize email marketing programs including drip and nurture campaigns
  • Develop creative marketing assets including landing pages and other downloadable assets
  • Manage and own logic for lead scoring, nurturing, onboarding and all marketing automation activities
  • Rigorously evaluate campaign performance and use various analytics tools to ensure constant learning and data-driven decision-making
  • Liaise between Sales and Marketing to ensure coordinated marketing and sales efforts, alignment on KPIs and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams including editorial around audience growth and product to ensure we are effectively leveraging marketing automation and analytics tools
  • Be an integral part of an ambitious, fun and close-knit team within a mission-driven start-up

What makes you a great fit for this role:

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience developing and implementing digital marketing strategy
  • You have deep knowledge of effective lead generation strategy and tactics
  • You are proficient with key marketing and sales tools including Marketo and Salesforce
  • You are confident with analytics tools in the marketing tech stack including Google Analytics
  • You have experience managing and owning projects from start to finish with minimal guidance - that includes scoping projects, problem-solving, finding creative solutions, etc.
  • You are passionate about education
  • You have strong written and communication skills
  • You’re able to move at a fast pace and change course when necessary!
  • You love working collaboratively with others and finding ways to solve problems
