Senior Marketing Manager Job Description

CK-12 is looking for a successful and experienced Senior Marketing Manager to support the CTO and CEO in the development and implementation of marketing strategies. This person will play a meaningful role by creating strategy for the CK-12 Marketing Team and by working across teams to implement the strategic vision in a way that incorporates needs and initiatives from multiple teams. This is a position that reports directly to the CTO and CEO.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the promotion and positioning of CK-12 within the competitive landscape of the EdTech industry.
  • Attract more users and increase retention and engagement.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the CK-12 Foundation and platform and transform that into a clear message that raises brand awareness for CK-12.
  • Ensuring the strategic alignment between the organization’s goals and the development of marketing campaigns to meet objectives
  • Manage marketing team and oversee implementation of its vision and work of direct reports.
  • Keep up-to-date with the industry’s trends and competitors and use a market analysis to determine gaps and how CK-12 can fill those needs.
  • Manage and grow existing partnerships (software: Google, Edmodo, etc.), form new partnerships, and build out co-marketing efforts.

Required skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of marketing experience in startup/midsize company
  • At least 3 years experience working for an edtech company
  • Proven experience in experimenting with different marketing channels to find effective ones
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics and Ads, MailChimp, iContact, ActiveCampaign, all social media platforms, data driven marketing
  • Copywriting experience, such as in emails, blogs, posts, newsletters, etc.
  • A record of conversion success

Requirements for Employment:

  • Applicant must be authorized to work in the US for any employer.
  • Applicant must be able to work full-time at the Palo Alto, California office (when it reopens).
  • Applicant also must clear a background check.
