Senior Manager: Learning Experience + Operations

Pathstream is looking for a Senior Manager of Learning Experience & Operations to oversee a growing team of talented and passionate learning designers. This is a challenging role that blends together a skillset in learning design and operations. You will oversee the quality of Pathstream certificates (alongside a program manager) by ensuring our courses and certificates meet Pathstream’s learning design standards and high student net promoter scores (NPS 60 to date).

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the VP of Learning Experience to shape the design, creation and launch of Pathstream’s growing catalog of programs, which include certificates in Data Analysis, IT Project Management and Salesforce. Your day to day will involve problem-solving across teams, identifying ways to increase operational efficiency, and working alongside a talented team of learning designers to ensure that Pathstream courses are student-centered and of the highest quality. This position is based at Pathstream’s headquarters in downtown San Francisco, CA.

  • Lead the certificate design process and scope new certificate areas alongside curriculum leads and a program manager
  • Own the quality of Pathstream certificates by supporting and managing curriculum team members as they produce content aligned with our learning design standards
  • Work alongside a program manager to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of Pathstream certificates
  • Manage student feedback and real-time challenges that arise for Pathstream students and instructors related to curriculum
  • Work with the product team to make data-driven decisions that enhance our certificates and certificate-creation process
  • Collaborate with our externally facing teams (implementation, customer support, sales etc) to represent the curriculum team to external stakeholders


  • Experience managing and scaling the production, budget and quality of education-related products or services from inception to launch
  • Experience managing a diverse team of education designers, ideally in the context of online learning experiences
  • Deep understanding of the principles of effective online course design and the science of learning. Past experience creating on-line education content is highly preferred
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented with a strong project management skill set
  • Thrives in a fast paced, creative and collaborative environment where teammates are both remote and in-person
  • Ability to swiftly problem solve in the moment, while keeping the big picture in sight
  • A clear commitment to student-centered design, and deep empathy to support Pathstream’s diverse online learners in reaching their professional goals
