Senior Program Manager - Edtech Discovery

WHO WE ARE SEEKING:

The Senior Program Manager, Edtech Discovery leads the Edtech Discovery program dedicated to improving the way educators find and select technology. Reporting to the Director of Grant and Program Strategy and collaborating with the Director of Product and other staff, the Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the vision, business model and managing the daily operation of the edtech discovery program. The Senior Manager will also execute on grant-funded, strategic initiatives to build and expand the program. This is a grant funded position, and is currently funded through 2024 with the expectation to be extended.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Management & Product Ownership (70%)

  • Managing and executing ISTE’s short- and long-term goals for the edtech discovery program as it relates to improving the EdSurge Product Index and Learning Technology Directory (LTD)
  • Working closely with the the Director of Product to prioritize the backlog of features and contributing to ongoing product development efforts
  • Managing the approval process in the LTD as necessary and managing volunteers and contract staff to approve products.
  • Keeping the categorization taxonomy and approval process up to date and planning for future iterations
  • Work cross-functionally with our marketing team to increase visibility and use of the products.
  • Contribute to grant proposals and reports as it relates to developing new features and functionalities for the program.

Strategy and Business Development (10%)

  • Manage budget for platforms and edtech discovery program
  • Support the design and implementation of business model(s) to build toward program sustainability
  • Contribute and expand on the overall platform strategy and vision

External Functions (10%)

  • Serving as an account manager by liaising with internal and external partners
  • Representing theinitiativeand presenting the work to external audiences including at national conferences
  • Communicating and collaborating with grant partners as it relates to this work

Administrative (10%)

  • Support Director of Grant and Program Strategy by keeping and processing records, invoices, and expenses
  • Develops and maintains contracts for consulting services related to the program
  • Hosts weekly team meetings
  • Attends other department meetings

WHAT MATTERS TO US:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, edtech or related field;
  • At least five years’ experience working in an education-related field.
  • At least two years’ experience working in program management or user experience.
  • Experience in preK-16 education is strongly preferred; familiarity with education technology purchasing and selection strongly preferred
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Familiarity with or experience with educational technology products
  • User-experience research or design skills are a plus
  • Eperience using Excel or Google Sheets, and project management tools like Asana, Trello.
  • Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
