Senior Human Resources Generalist

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 7 million students worldwide, has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to grow with us as our 400+ person company continues to expand. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly establish credibility and trust with the local management team and employees serving as the on-site, go-to-resource for the team. Key focus areas are employee relations, engagement, compliance, talent management and development.


  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues of moderate difficulty through effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Advise managers on HR policies, their interpretation and application, and manage involuntary terminations
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and promote employee engagement
  • Support a positive employee onboarding experience
  • Assist with development and delivery of employee and management development, and lead training across multiple levels and topics
  • Diagnose organizational issues, and partner with VP HR to develop solutions, and implement action plans at a local level
  • Participate in the design and implementation of programs that build employee engagement and retention
  • Identify risks any human resources issues may have on the business and advises the appropriate parties with recommendations for solutions
  • Lead or work on projects as assigned that support broader corporate human resources programs
  • Serve as an adviser and coach to associates around career development and performance issues
  • Stay current on best industry practices that can be applied and/or implemented within the organization and maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance


  • Bachelor’s Degree; HR coursework preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources field
  • Expertise in employee relations, performance management, relevant employment laws
  • Highly motivated, energizing and inspiring others to seek higher levels of performance
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Laws, Compliance, Immigration and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects autonomously to completion
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office Suite, HRIS systems; Workday experience a plus
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
