Job Description

SchoolMint is looking for a dynamic Senior HR Manager to join our team. This person will manage the company’s HR-related programs and processes and will own the entire employee experience from recruiting and onboarding to employee benefits to employee training and development. We are looking for a leader who can reinforce our culture, champion diversity and inclusion, and empower and enable our employees at every level of the organization to be successful in their roles and to have a meaningful impact on K-12 education.

  • Partner with managers and other leaders across the company to provide HR guidance on change management, compensation, retention, engagement, talent assessments, performance management, etc.
  • Supervise the HR team and office support staff located in each of the company’s offices (San Francisco, New York, Miami, and Costa Rica)
  • Support the company’s cultural initiatives and help to foster a culture that reflects our company vision, mission, and core values
  • Manage the company’s employee compensation and benefit programs including continued monitoring and benchmarking to ensure competitiveness
  • Manage the company’s performance management and OKR processes
  • Oversee the company’s HR-related software applications & tools
  • Drive the company’s employee development and training programs
  • Manage the company’s recruiting and employee onboarding processes
  • Develop, implement and monitor programs that promote diversity and inclusion within the company
  • Be the voice of the employee and act as a liaison between employees and leaders across the company to address questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices and regulations
  • Periodically measure employee engagement and partner with leaders across the company to develop and empower employees
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations related to employee matters
  • Advise managers on HR-related issues to ensure consistent, transparent application of company policies and practices
  • Drive company-wide communications and events (updates, all-hands meetings, town halls, etc.)
  • Continue to evolve the HR team as the company grows
  • Perform HR investigations as required
  • Drive the HR-related activities for acquisition integrations
  • Manage all employee personnel records
  • Perform ad hoc projects as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of HR-related experience; HR generalist experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, compliance and practices and experience in developing, executing and maintaining HR projects and programs
  • Ability to partner with and work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment and navigate leaders through a variety of organizational changes
  • Ability to be self-motivated, effectively identify, analyze, develop solutions, be innovative and make decisions on complex or unique issues
  • Proven ability to manage others
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems using critical thinking skills and drive appropriate solutions
  • Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, a good “bedside manner”, and excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
  • Experience with HR-related systems and best practices
  • Able to manage workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities
  • Able to work both on a team (as member and/or leader) and independently to deliver results
