Role

Yearning for an opportunity to lead a quickly developing team within a high-growth start-up? We are seeking a highly competent executor with tremendous relationship and project management skills (and a sense of adventure!) to take the reins of our Channel Partnerships Team. BetterLesson has begun partnering with a targeted group of external organizations -- fellow start ups, non-profits, more established Ed Tech and Curriculum companies --who are in search of Professional Learning support for the districts and schools with whom they work. In many cases, we supplement and complement the services their own skilled teams are providing; ensuring greater engagement, adoption, and retention of their products by providing continuous, personalized PL to their school leaders, coaches, and teachers.

Excitingly, you would own the entire partner lifecycle, closely collaborating with other internal teams and company leaders -- including managing our COO through the Prospecting phase, collaborating with our Head of Customer Experience as we gain partner buy-in, working with our existing Director of Channel Partnerships to train a partner’s sales force, coordinating with our Services team as we develop internal certification for our expert coaches, and aligning with Partner Success to ensure seamless rollout.

You are

  • A proven team leader who can strategize, implement, improve, and manage both new and existing ideas and tactics;
  • Experienced in developing and brilliantly launching and managing the success of high-level partnerships with external partners;
  • Ready to take each day as a grand adventure, embracing failure with an eye towards quick iteration and the next right thing to try;
  • Skilled at people management; taking a support-based approach to thought partnership and learning;
  • A strong and warm relationship builder and communicator with a keen ability to engage a diverse cross-section of internal and external stakeholders;

You will

  • Dive into a learn-by-doing onboarding process, getting up to speed quickly and efficiently while digging right into the work of leading your team;
  • Continue to refine and codify the systems and processes for all stages of the Channel Partner lifecycle;
  • Identify market trends and growth potential for each potential partnership, allocating the appropriate amount of resources needed to realize each partnership’s promise;
  • Shore up the cross functional relationships and concretize responsibilities necessary to execute on every aspect of the Channel Partnership lifecycle;
  • Serve as a strategic leader, manager, and thought partner to existing members of the Channel Partnerships team;
  • Manage the Channel Partnerships relationships at the highest level, supporting other team members as they navigate and build relationships with the implementation and sales teams of the other organizations;
  • Analyze various data sets in order to surface trends and insights, telling a clear story of ROI to our partner organizations;

You have

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience (or 5 yrs + MBA), preferably within K-12;
  • Leadership experience, within a high-growth environment;
  • Experience forging and maintaining B2B partnerships (through a Customer Success and/or Sales lens);
  • A track record of leading teams to meet and exceed revenue targets;;
  • Equal parts confidence and humility; well, maybe 60/40 ;)
  • Excellent judgment;
  • Strong auditory processing;
  • A believable, impossible-to-miss passion for equity through education, and teacher support as a promising vehicle for that equity;
  • been successful managing a high-performing team;
  • shown excellent organization, detail-orientation and project management skills;
  • an ability to communicate complex trends and outcomes simply and effectively;
  • strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Lovely additions: If you have experience with school districts as a teacher or administrator, that’s fantastic. And if you’ve spent time marketing, selling, or doing customer success work within k-12, that’s terrific too.
