About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic leader for our newly formed Data Solutions team to help lead and pave the way for the future of our data practices at New Classrooms. Successful candidates for this role will be masterful at clearly connecting the patterns in data and communicating lessons to a variety of audiences. Candidates will have the relevant experience and data analysis methods to lead the investigation of a number of potentially game changing questions as New Classrooms applies its highly unique data to more deeply understand how students learn math.

Additionally, this position will manage the data solutions team which provides data reports, consultation and analysis services involving program-related data in support of our internal and external stakeholders. This team drives processes and tools for analyzing large and highly complex program-related data sets, applying advanced analytics and computing power to identifying hidden patterns, trends, and associations within the underlying data. The team’s overall goals are to 1) surface new insights to fuel the ongoing design and advancement of the TTO program as well as inform the industry at large 2) provide the data to support our overall implementations.

  • You are thoughtful about and successful in forging productive, strategic external partnerships to further research and analysis aims
  • You can clearly and compellingly communicate insights and learnings to a variety of audiences who are less data-savvy than you

What You Would Do

  • Establish services that provide an ongoing evaluation of the integrity, health and quality of data throughout our system
  • Establish tools, procedures, and mechanisms that allow for sound and replicable analytics of our programmatic data for the purposes of identifying trends, correlations, and insights using a variety of techniques including approaches of Big Data Analytics
  • Lead analyses of student and teacher qualitative and quantitative data to better understand how students and teachers experience personalized learning so that New Classrooms can alter that experience to maximize learning through personalized pathways
  • Address the data needs of stakeholders across the organization while maintaining a high level of data integrity and quality, and in accordance with data security policies
  • Understand ongoing data needs of the organization in order to inform the evolution of our systems and resources used to support these efforts
  • Establish and manage partnerships with institutions, organizations and vendors that provide expertise, impartiality, tools, services, or support for our analytical and evaluation work
  • Provide guidance and/or validation for hypotheses and extrapolations when conclusive, quantitative findings are not yet available
  • Build, develop and lead a high-performing team by ensuring they have the appropriate level of vision, priorities, goals, processes, and resources to support their goals
  • Help to shape the narratives and visualizations that help a variety of stakeholders to understand what we are learning and the relevant implications


  • Graduate degree in quantitative discipline required (math, statistics, economics, engineering, computer science, physics, etc.)
  • Experience using statistical software - SQL, R, SPSS, Azure ML, and/or Tableau preferred
  • 5-7 years experience leading and implementing data analytics strategies and best practices with demonstrated success
  • Substantial experience mentoring and managing other team members
  • Commitment to the Mission and Core Values of New Classrooms
  • Interest in education technology or education reform, required
