Senior Director, Industry Partnerships

ISTE - Remote - Full time

The Senior Director of Industry Partnerships will work closely with the Chief Learning Officer and other key stakeholders to help build and advance the strategic vision for edtech industry-facing, learning-focused partnerships, and programs. This person will be responsible for the development and growth of partnerships and programs for edtech companies designed:

  1. Improve how educators and educational institutions connect and engage with companies and their products,
  2. To improve the overall quality of edtech products and programs on the market as well as the quality, reliability, and accessibility of information about their potential impact in diverse learning settings
  3. Elevate the voice and influence of educators in the design and development of edtech tools.

Further, this position will work closely with companies to:

  1. Provide them vital information about edtech marketplace trends and buyer priorities,
  2. Provide access to expertise from the ISTE community and beyond,
  3. Offer unique networking opportunities both between companies and with educator leaders and influencers.

Specifically, this position will have full P&L responsibility for ISTE’s Learning and Technology Directory, the EdSurge Product Index, the ISTE EdTech Solutions Network (ISTE’s corporate membership program), Seal of Alignment, and other company-facing services, except conference sponsorships.


  • Oversees and ensures the sustainability and execution of a portfolio of industry facing projects and programs within the Learning Division
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with companies and mission-aligned organizations
  • Develops and maintains relationships with philanthropic funders, including proposal development, timely delivery of promised deliverables, metrics tracking and reporting, and renewal
  • Explores ways to grow and leverage successful and/or promising existing corporate partnerships and relationships
  • Expands ISTE’s influence around improving system-level procurement practices and the use of product validations as critical market signals
  • Develops and expands ISTE’s corporate strategy through vendor and corporate facing programs and services
  • Seeks out new business development opportunities and funding channels
  • Works closely with events and membership divisions to ensure seamless and coordinated implementation of cross-functional partnerships and overlapping priorities.
  • Develops, tracks, and reports on success metrics across special projects, programs, and partnerships.
  • Develops, manages, and tracks program and project budgets according to internal financial processes
  • Directs the team responsible for the implementation of industry projects and programs


  • Master’s Degree, with 10-15 years of experience in education, technology, business, and partnership development and/or equivalent education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the education technology field, especially as it relates to the needs and market of edtech companies
  • Experience building, growing, and managing products and relationships.


  • Manages any new or additional team members and/or contractors as necessary
  • Manages two Senior Project Managers and their respective teams
