Science Curriculum Designer

We are seeking a part-time science curriculum writer who is excited to write, edit, and produce curriculum and assessments linked with NGSS standards for K-12 students. This is an ideal part-time position for a teacher who wants to supplement their income. The work will be managed remotely, on your own time.

The company, with a mission to inspire the next generation of innovators and creators, creates robotics & coding education programs and robots, for children to learn STEM and develop 21st century skills, such as problem solving, creative thinking, innovation, critical & analytical thinking, communication and collaboration.

The Science Curriculum Designer will work on curriculum to go with existing products and will:

  • Collaborate with the program team to craft new curricular materials
  • Understand the products through deep analysis to see what educational value each product offers in the classroom
  • Provide services to ensure the goals of the program are met with the highest standards
  • Meet deadlines of completing work, this fall, to match launch dates of products
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in the design and continuous improvement of the curriculum

Requirements

  • Deep content knowledge in Science with a degree in an associated content area.
  • Minimum of five years K-12 teaching experience in science, or computer science field
  • 5+ years of experience in curriculum design/development
  • Experience with STEM products used in the classroom today
  • Superior writing skills with demonstrated writing ability
  • Science writing and/or editing experience
  • Knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards and experience working with NGSS-aligned curriculum
  • Comfortable with technology and able to learn new applications
  • An understanding of teaching coding in the K-12 classroom

Education

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Biology, Technology, Chemistry, Physics or a related STEM discipline. Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) preferred.
