About Lalilo

Lalilo is an EdTech Startup building a web-based app to help elementary teachers differentiate their reading instruction. Our vision is to support educators in the classroom by gathering pedagogy, design, and artificial intelligence in the most engaging learning platform. We believe teachers have the hardest, most impactful, and most important job in society - and we want to help them in their mission to help students. We also believe every student should be given every chance to succeed, and this starts by becoming a proficient reader.

Our tool is used monthly by more than 80,000 teachers as well as 700,000 students and growing! On the student side, students evolve through different worlds and collect treasures as they go. They complete exercises in phonics, sight words, word families, comprehension, and grammar. On the teacher side, detailed reporting allows teachers to better understand student strengths and areas of need. Educators can also print weekly reports and invite families to use the platform at home.

We are a team of 33 passionate, hard-working, and fun individuals based in Paris, New York, and San Francisco.

About the position

Lalilo is a well-established literacy company in France and the U.S. In France, Lalilo has a partnership with the French Ministry of Education and in the U.S, we have been actively selling to schools since summer 2019. We have laid the groundwork of our sales structure and are looking for an empathetic education expert and mission-driven individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to help accelerate our growth. As a School & District ISR, you will join Lalilo's sales team as the initial point of contact with teachers and administrators, working to enhance literacy outcomes for students by winning school and district deals through prospecting and qualifying inbound, strategizing untapped markets, and identifying marketing/product levers in order to grow a U.S sales pipeline. You will have the opportunity to improve every step of our sales organization and must be comfortable with making dozens of calls per day, working with partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing sales.

About the role:

  • Qualifying inbound leads through calls and emails of the time and speaking directly with qualified sales leads.
  • Outbound outreach to potential prospects via leaderboards and reactivation of contacts.
  • Strategic planning of our bottom-up sales flow by identifying levers to move from teachers to schools and districts.
  • Designing and implementing automation in our CRM to increase efficiency throughout the pipeline.
  • Enter, update, and maintain CRM information on leads, prospects, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with pedagogy and design teams to create marketing collateral for sales outreach.
  • Presenting Lalilo through virtual demonstrations;
  • Setting up school pilots when necessary;
  • End-to-End selling;
  • Pipeline management to maximize efficiency and keep prospects warm.

We’re looking for somebody who:

  • Deeply cares about educators and can relate to them.
  • Has outstanding verbal and written skills.
  • Is very tech-savvy and able to thrive in a tech startup.
  • Is extremely organized and structured. Able to thrive in fast-paced unstructured environments; and create structure out of ambiguity while working remotely.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Is excited by the idea of joining an early-stage startup.
  • Is eager to strategize effective daily communication by crafting emails and pounding the phone to qualify and reach prospective leads.
  • Proactive, independent, self-starter, able to manage multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Sense-of-humor and roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.


  • 1-3 years of SaaS sales or comparable experience, ideally in an EdTech Startup and/or elementary education-related background
  • Can manage a pipeline of $300k
  • Working knowledge of early childhood literacy development
  • Detailed working knowledge of and comfort with Sales CRMs (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce)
  • Can travel to Paris (France) two times a year.
  • Can travel to NYC or SF a few times a year.
