Sales Engineer, Rosetta Stone (Harrisonburg, VA)

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 13 million students worldwide, is seeking a Sales Engineer to help support our Rosetta Stone customers through their implementations. In this role, you will work to set correct expectations pre-sale, resolve issues and coordinate implementation activities working cross-functionally with multiple internal teams, including Customer Services, Product Management, and Sales.

The ideal candidate will be someone who will develop an understanding of our customers’ business goals and objectives related to the implementation of our products. You will ensure the long-term success of Rosetta Stone products for our customers by applying industry and implementation best practices. You will also act as their strategic advisor helping to plan for upgrades and service opportunities.

This is a full time position in either our Raleigh, NC or Harrisonburg, VA office with a hybrid work schedule.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Guide customers and advise prospects on how to best implement Rosetta Stone software in their organizations from a network, desktop, and LMS perspective
  • Troubleshoot integration and implementation issues (especially in environments like government agencies or schools)
  • Ensure successful product implementations and installations
  • Become an expert on Rosetta Stone’s products, services, and best practices to help guide customers on their business needs and to ensure long term success
  • Develop and foster key customer relationships as well as work cross-functionally with other teams within IXL/Rosetta Stone

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous experience as a sales engineer or comparable pre-sales/implementation experience with SaaS or online learning software
  • 7+ years overall software sales and/or service experience
  • Industry knowledge in at least one of the following: education, government, corporate or international
  • Experience working in team-selling and team-delivery environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, rapport, and strong customer relationships
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical customers
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of at least two of the following technologies: Clever, LTI, SAML 2.0, Web Services (RESTful/GraphQL), AICC/SCORM, xAPI, XML
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to provide quick and timely issue resolution
  • Project Management or Account Management experience
  • Command of spoken and written Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Arabic, or Chinese a plus
  • Experience with customers outside the US is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • A passion for education and language learning
