The opportunity

As a TalkingPoints Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will generate new business opportunities by following proven processes to prospect into targeted accounts. The position will be responsible for qualifying prospects through high-level conversations with education leaders based on interest in our organization's solutions and how well prospects fit our organization's ideal customer profile. We're looking fora self-motivated and driven individual who is goal oriented, methodical, tenacious,,and can effectively interact with our team.

As a SDR, you will:

  • Conduct sales development best practices with email, phone, and social media to connect with prospects.
  • Efficiently and gracefully counter top of the funnel objections, prospecting, cold calling, and utilizing the support of social channels such as LinkedIn, as well as having excellent interpersonal and technical skills. Skillfully build interest and create opportunities with prospects.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to initiate the sales cycle with new prospects and current customers.
  • Foster meaningful and strategic relationships with account executives to achieve coordinated prospecting efforts.
  • Coordinate demo meetings with account executives and log activities in CRM.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the educational marketplace (i.e. demographics, education trends, funding, and other key external influences).
  • Upon initial onboarding and training, continue to develop a high level of understanding as it relates to the TalkingPoints product and how we fit into the marketplace.
  • Respond rapidly to inbound leads through email and phone.
  • Exceed quota of qualified opportunities.
  • Diligently record activities and notes within ZoomInfo-Engage and Salesforce maintaining the accuracy of sales/marketing database and accounts.
  • Meet daily call, task, appointment and pipeline activity metrics within assigned accounts and new business development targets.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. Attend virtual and in-person (limited) conferences, team meetings, and product training.

  • You possess strong analytical skills and experience using sales metrics to drive business decisions.
  • You have a strong attention to detail and a high standard of excellence.
  • You are a self-starter and able to work independently to solve problems.
  • You have experience in K-12 education and/or software sales.
  • You have 2+ years experience as a SDR.
  • Nice to have: You have experience using tools and platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and similar tools.
