Sales Development Representative

STS Education - Simi Valley, California - Full time

Job Summary:

The Sales Development Representative will uncover qualified opportunities through targeted outbound activities as well as inbound requests within the assigned geographical territory. The opportunities will be converted to the Territory Sales Representative (TSR) or Strategic Sales Representative (SSR) based on the customer profile and solutions will be designed based on customer needs. Success will be defined by the number of qualified opportunities converted and closed by the sales team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drive top-of-the-funnel lead generation for the sales team.
  • Develop surface level understanding of all STS products and services in order to properly identify qualified opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge and keep up to date on the current market trends.
  • Collaborate with the territory sales team to develop local strategy and identify key contacts and opportunities.
  • Properly create and manage qualified activities, contacts, and opportunities within Salesforce
  • Develop proficiency in all sales system tools - Salesforce, Core, etc.
  • Make a required minimum number of calls a week or talk time
  • Come to work each day with a positive attitude and prepared to work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant inside sales prospecting experience
  • College degree preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of K-12 school districts and key personnel preferred
  • Familiarity with K-12 educational technology products preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
