Position Summary:

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is seeking a Research Analyst for its growing research team. Working closely with the Vice President of Research, and reporting to the Lead Research Analyst, the Research Analyst Associate will support efforts to collect and analyze educational data, assist with evaluation and impact studies, craft articles and reports related to education policy, monitor assessments and other duties. This role is a unique opportunity for someone just starting a career in education policy and/or research with an interest in gaining experience in qualitative and quantitative research, survey design, reports and article writing from a policy and thought leadership perspective, and a variety of student and teacher data management and analysis.

Role and Responsibilities:

Support qualitative and quantitative research evaluation efforts, including designing surveys, managing and analyzing data, and producing update reports.

Draft policy-oriented articles and white papers based on NFTE research findings.

Perform ad hoc data and report requests.

Manage ongoing assessment and data collection.

Support the collection of program data through different online data platforms.


Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in social science research and evaluation or related field.

Prior experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative analysis.

Prior experience writing articles, reports, and/or memos strongly preferred.

Prior experience developing and analyzing survey and/or assessment items preferred.

Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and organized.

Strong knowledge of MS office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Basic analytic skills using Excel. Experience working with STATA, SPSS, or R preferred.

Knowledge of and Tableau platforms preferred.

Curiosity and interest in education, public policy, and entrepreneurship.

Comfort working collaboratively with a team and independently.

Working Environment:

Some travel required.

Based in the New York Office, located in downtown Manhattan at 120 Wall Street, 18th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
