Research Analyst

In this job you will:

  • Conduct primary and secondary research across various segments of edtech
  • Synthesize data-driven research insights that combine our proprietary data with outside datasets to identify key trends and analyze the momentum of edtech startups, companies, and investors
  • Understand and develop forward-looking analyses and insights for top edtech areas including Early Childhood, PreK-12, Higher Ed, Workforce and Adult Enrichment
  • Publish digestible, differentiated, and incisive research on our client-only platform and occasionally for our public research portal
  • Develop and give client and prospect client presentations during member and expert exchanges to discuss market trends in edtech
  • Collaborate with our editorial lead and product team to evolve the Intelligence product

In your first two weeks, you might:

  • Analyze attention and investment data to understand trends in the higher ed market
  • Write short, lively chunks of analysis on what you find for a member newsletter and site
  • Create insightful and actionable interactive graphics based on your analysis

What makes you a great fit for this role:

  • Writing experience is a must - can be within the fields of market research, business journalism, equity research, investment banking, or consulting
  • 2+ years experience in edtech related-position (can also be while working in any of the above fields). Must be able to demonstrate edtech industry domain knowledge
  • Ability to synthesize data and develop meaningful conclusions and predictive insights
  • Strong communication/presentation skills and leadership abilities. You should feel comfortable speaking to Fortune 500 clients/prospects as an authority on the business and edtech.
  • A thick skin and high tolerance for change required
  • Ability to multi-task and manage the details while keeping an eye on the big picture
  • You are passionate about education
  • You love working collaboratively with others and finding ways to solve problems

This is a contract-based position with an opportunity to become full-time. This role includes support for professional development and training opportunities as part of a small, passionate team. We believe in helping people be their best selves.
