Come help us build out our growing team at BrightBytes. In this role of RFP Writer and Research Associate, we are looking for passionate individuals to support the sales team primarily through writing, editing, and managing the development, completion, and on-time submission of proposals and security questionnaires. The position requires researching, writing, and producing a high volume of client facing documentation for a dynamic product suite. We’re looking for team members with strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to generate creative ideas while working both independently, and collaboratively. Every BrightBytes team member has a deep understanding of, and passion for, improving K-12 education. 

Would ideally like someone located in the Bay Area to work out of BrightBytes’ San Francisco office but flexible with remote work. 

Here’s what you’ll do:

* Plan, research, develop, and edit complex content for proposals in response to customer solicitations and ensure solicitations are completed and delivered on time

* Serve as central point of contact and work collaboratively with teams across BrightBytes to ensure on time, accurate, complete, and compliant bid responses

* Help establish and roll out processes, templates, standards, and methodologies to successfully bid projects in a timely manner

* Develop and maintain centralized knowledge management database through continuous review and knowledge of the BrightBytes solutions, continuous updating of boilerplate proposal documents, and technical related questions and responses to facilitate the quick completion of solicitation responses

* Research and gather information on potential and existing customers, K-12 education landscape, and other vendor solutions to inform solicitation responses 

* Identify content gaps, and work with sales, research, technical, and engineering experts, contract and operations representatives to craft complete and accurate and ensure BrightBytes is in compliance

* Submit completed writing to Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives and Copywriter for review; incorporate comments and changes into final product

* Conduct research to identify win themes pain points

* Track solicitation responses and status in Salesforce

* Coordinate simultaneous bids and complete proposal processes to submit within given turnaround time

* Other duties as assigned by manager 

About you:

* Detail-oriented multitasker with high capacity for fast-paced changes and revisions

* Passionate about improving student learning and making a positive difference in the lives of school leaders, teachers, and students

* A life-long learner and stay current on educational trends and policies

* Thrives working under high pressure and in a tight deadline environment

* Can quickly learn and understand technical topics and translate them into clear language for a variety of audiences

* Receptive to feedback

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively

* Flexible in accommodating team priorities

Required skills and experience

* Minimum of two (2) years RFP and proposal writing experience, preferably in the K-12 education sector

* Bachelor’s Degree (additional degrees are welcome)

Excellent writing and editing abilities; skilled in grammatical/stylistic structure

* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally

* Strong research skills

* High analytical skills with strong organizational skills

* Strong project management skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel), Google Apps (Docs, Slides, Drive, and Sheets), and Salesforce
