Who we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced and passionate PreK-12 edtech sales professional who can help us identify and cultivate new opportunities, capitalize on existing opportunities, and turn district and school leads into long-term, delighted clients/partners. You have sales in your DNA with a proven track record of B2B sales success. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and help us strategize our growth, to think outside the box, knock on doors and track down leads. You have an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for selling a solution into school and districts that can help make a real difference in the way teachers teach and students learn.

This highly visible role is vital to our continued success and will require the following:

1. Being a true sales driver:

  • Build a strong understanding of the specific needs/wants of the customers within your territory
  • Prospect and develop a sales pipeline of leads
  • Run the sales process from initial contact to successful close and beyond
  • Refine and maintain a Salesforce pipeline for leads in schools and districts
  • Build relationships with key contacts for networking and future opportunities
  • Identify upselling opportunities with existing accounts

2. Partnering on all things strategy:

  • Provide us feedback and insight on our positioning and sales process
  • Bring any issues/concerns that arise during client meetings and demos to our attention and help us in solving them
  • Collaborate with our management team to develop and implement sales strategies, targets and goals
  • Attend trade shows and conferences, when needed, as a representative of the Lesson Planet’s Learning Explorer solution
  • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies
  • Take an active role in team meetings and planning sessions

3. Owning the sales process:

  • Work closely with our school and district implementation success team to ensure your newest accounts have a seamless experience post sale
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure collateral material needs are met to provide effective messaging for each sales channel
  • Identify opportunities to improve our current sales and operations process as needed

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A proven successful track record in PreK-12 edtech sales with a network of contacts to reach out to
  • 3+ years of B2B software-as-a-service sales experience
  • PreK-12 teaching experience is a plus!
  • Being bi-lingual is a plus!
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis
  • Tech savvy (from GSuite to Slack to SalesForce)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to identify decision makers and how to reach them
  • You are organized, self-motivated, confident, innovative & positive
