The Regional Sales Executive Director for the state of California establishes and drives sales activities for Imagine learning offerings, transforming opportunity into action every day. The Regional Sales Director leads and motivates a Sales team to increase revenue/margin from developing brand-new accounts to driving expansion across existing accounts. This position ensures the achievement of sales goals, including analyzing and interpreting sales data, evaluating current business, and identifying new sales opportunities. The Director develops strategy, target reports, business plans, and executes the plan. Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and coaches the Sales team. Evaluates goals and conducts performance reviews. Collaborates with internal departments to efficiently and effectively provide best-in-class service to customers.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to Senior Vice-President, Sales.

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $117,438.00 and $200,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote; to be considered, you must reside in California.

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 75% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Devise and implement sales strategy for the company’s California Core business; strategize sales plans for short- and long-term objectives.
  • Counsel, train and guide direct reports to drive organization plans for achieving sales goals; drives accountability at a territory level.
  • Set revenue targets for the company and key performance indicators.
  • Analyze and summarize account profitability and determine sales technique, advertising and market penetration with sales representatives.
  • Meet with Sales team on a regular basis to assess company performance against KPI’s.
  • Present sales results to senior leadership on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Speak at conferences and events about the company’s products and services.
  • Keep a close eye on the sales activities of competitors.
  • Oversee performance management of under-performing sales staff.
  • Implement new business initiatives to drive sales.
  • Work with senior leaders on budgeting and planning.
  • Negotiate agreements for contracts with customers.
  • Implement an effective sales pipeline and lead tracking process.
  • Ensure the CRM is being used effectively and provides a competitive advantage.
  • Implement best practice in sales techniques throughout the department.
  • Foster strong relationships across the organization.
  • Other duties as required.

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience in the education technology industry, preferably with a focus on Core curricula; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with the California adoption process.
  • Experience leading remote teams preferred.
  • Proven history of driving sales results and achieving goals.
  • Experience in effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel a minimum of 60%.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Working knowledge of NetSuite preferred.
