The Summit Public Schools Real Estate and Facilities Associate will support the members of Summit’s Real Estate and Facilities team with Facilities maintenance at all Summit School sites.

The Facilities Associate will be accountable for overseeing services such as repairs, cleaning, delivery, and maintenance to make sure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition for faculty and students. This position will also be responsible for managing minor building renovation projects including but not limited to; painting, carpeting, and furniture assembly. Lastly, the role is responsible for ensuring that our schools meet health and safety standards and comply with each school’s facility-use agreements.

The Associate is expected to work four days per week at approximately seven hours per day. In some cases, the employee may be expected to work additional hours due to emergencies or alternate urgent matters. The location of this role is distributed between the home office (in Redwood City) and our other schools located throughout the Bay Area; traveling is required.

Duration of position

Summit anticipates that this position is a temporary position and the duration of the position shall be from October 2017 until August 2018.

Other responsibilities to include:

  • Research local area vendors, identifying favorable and cost-effective partners for Summit
  • Assist in managing Budgets and record keeping of all payments
  • Assist in presentation material production
  • Produce basic presentation materials related to Facilities projects and proposals
  • Record meeting notes and actions items during Facilities meetings
