Psychometrician II - remote

The Psychometrician II collaborates with the Sr Director of Research and Data Sciences in the ongoing development and documentation of the research-basis and technical adequacy evidence of FastBridge assessments. This role involves managing and analyzing large data sets using R as well as maintaining a library of R code. The successful candidate is a problem solver with strong written communication and organizational skills, proficient in R coding, has a strong foundation in psychometrics and assessment design principles, and enjoys working in a team, managing data, and communicating with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data analyses to assess the technical adequacy of FastBridge assessments, to develop norms, for special research projects and white papers, and custom analyses for strategic clients.
  • Prepare psychometric documentation for external rating agencies (e.g., NCII), RFPs, presentations, customer support inquiries, and the Knowledge Base.
  • Maintain a library of data files, R-code, and technical documentation of the FastBridge assessments.
  • Support the Sr Director in the preparation and management of research projects.
  • Collaborate with the Sr Director and the Sr Research Associate on white papers, webinars, and presentations.
  • Perform all research and development activities in accordance with APA/AERA/NCME standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MA/MS in Educational Psychology or related field plus 5 years’ experience in educational testing. Preference given to applicants with school district experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong foundation in psychometrics and proficient analyzing data in R.
  • Working understanding of formative assessment systems, Common Core State Standards, and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).
