Project Manager, Technology Services

AVID Center - San Diego, California - Full time

Position Description: The Project Manager, Technology Services, is responsible for planning and managing multiple medium-to-large-scale digital projects throughout all phases of the project life cycle. This position works within the AVID Project Management Office (PMO) to directly manage key strategic projects while also supporting the organization’s project management needs with consultative services and assistance. The Project Manager works closely with various departments and management within the organization to understand the strategic vision of each project, successfully plan and manage all aspects of the project, and ensure success by meeting, but preferably exceeding, stakeholders’ expectations.

Essential Duties:

Oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery

Create project plans with input from cross-functional team leads

Manage day-to-day aspects of projects; prioritizing activities, deliverables, and resources

Define and document project requirements, work-flows, and processes with key stakeholders

Identify, track, and report the status of key project milestones

Monitor project progress and communicate effectively and in a timely manner

Proactively anticipate, identify, and communicate project risks and issues

Participate in QA by identifying, tracking, assigning, and resolving issues

Build strong relationships with all internal and external project stakeholders

Be adept at change management by quickly communicating changes with all teams to inform them of impacts and options as plans are modified

Communicate with colleagues to increase alignment and teamwork across divisions

Participate in trainings to update program and professional knowledge

Drive AVID PMO effectiveness by developing, improving, and modeling PM processes, standards, tools, and techniques

Perform other similar duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

The Project Manager, Technology Services must provide evidence of or demonstrate the following:

Excellent project management and time management skills

Effective use of technology tools for communications, planning, management, and presentations, including a working knowledge of MS Office Suite and scheduling software (Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar)

Experience managing cross-functional teams (designers, developers, SMEs, QA resources, etc.)

Experience creating project plans, scope documents, schedules, and budgets

Understanding of design thinking and agile development

Experience and Education*:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, preferably with education products and services

Experience managing interactive multimedia projects

Current Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or ability to obtain PMP certification within 6 months of employment
