Project Manager

Committee for Children - Seattle, Washington or Remote - Full time

In our pursuit of positively transforming the social-emotional well-being of 100 million children annually by 2028, Committee for Children is looking for an experienced project manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The project manager will collaborate with the product manager to define the projects’ objectives and oversee quality control throughout their life cycle.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Maintain and champion CFC’s project management process throughout the organization
  • Direct and manage projects from beginning to end
  • Work with product manager to define project scope, goals, requirements, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Define project success criteria with product manager and stakeholders
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Effectively acquire and manage internal and external resources
  • Assist the product manager in submitting budget proposals and recommend budget changes when necessary
  • Create and manage project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Assist the product manager in developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and devise contingency plans
  • Conduct project postmortems, create a report, and present findings
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Communicate with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Set and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

Qualifications

5+ years of direct work experience in project management, including all aspects of process development and execution

Certification in project management

Experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Experience managing multiyear projects

Experience managing projects with budgets of $500K or more

Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

Experience in project management in the education and/or digital products fields highly desired

Experience managing creative teams

Experience managing teams of 8+ people

Strong working knowledge of project management software

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-moving, agile environment

Solid working knowledge of web-based technologies, preferably iPad apps, learning management systems, and Smartboard

Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal

Working knowledge of database and CRM systems
