About the Project

As districts, educators, students, and families continue to adjust to a variety of learning environments, the needs of students with disabilities are too often put on the backburner—instead, they must be considered from the beginning. Family communication, online instruction, needs assessment, and data tracking and analytics are each stronger and more effective when they are designed to meet the needs of all learners.

The Educating All Learners Alliance (EALA) is an uncommon coalition of 100+ organizationscommitted to resource sharing and community-building that supports the efforts of the education community to meet the needs of all students, especially students with disabilities. The Alliance represents voices from a diverse range of communities, including disability advocacy, parent, special education, civil rights, and K-12 nonprofit education organizations. EALA leads the development of a Resource Library, Tech Tool Library, webinars and podcasts, and community-based initiatives, showing a pathway to possible in the challenges and opportunities surrounding students with disabilities in K12 education.

Position:

InnovateEDU is currently seeking a full-time project associate to serve as a content lead for the Educating All Learners Alliance project. The project associate content lead will stand as the go-to person for written content, upholding and growing the alliance’s content and communications strategy across the EALA networks of networks. This role will manage the day-to-day operations and resource growth within the EALA resource and tech tool libraries. The project associate content lead will stay up to date and serve as an inside ear to sector highlights, opportunities, and potential resource gaps–ready to create resources for, and with the help of, the partners within the alliance. In collaboration with the project team, the project associate content lead will support larger initiative strategy and implementation, including content or event-based strategies.

This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely. Since March 2020, the majority of InnovateEDU staff has worked virtually, and team members are expected to be available during typical office hours in Eastern Standard Time, with some flexibility available. The position may require 20% travel to support sites nationwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate engaging written or multimedia content including case studies, newsletters, initiative releases, website updates, and other EALA materials
  • Continuously review needs and trends in the field to proactively identify content opportunities to amplify EALA and its goals through news, original articles, webinars, and other mediums
  • Support the editorial and content team strategy and priorities for EALA
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the EALA Resource Library and EALA Tech Tool Library
  • Identify resources generated by partners of the alliance and other open source, relevant resources to support the continuous growth content within the Resource and Tech Tool Libraries
  • Represent the alliance in sector virtual and physical community spaces such as conferences, communities of practice, and other networking events
  • Use process systems such as Pardot or Salesforce to document and scale content and communications growth
  • Help organize and maintain project documentation to effectively support resource planning and larger project decisions
  • Advocate for process change or improvement based on learning experiences and/or data-driven reflection of tasks
  • In collaboration with the project team, support the long-term Initiative building goals of the alliance
  • In collaboration with the project team, use sector knowledge to generate ideas and activate key players to collaborate in conference proposals/sessions and resource development working groups
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of special education practice, especially in regards to content-specific, resource development, inclusive design, and/or special education policy required
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and external stakeholders while accommodating multiple project demands and organizational priorities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaborative and productive relationships among staff and external organizations and funders
  • Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences
  • Ability to translate complex information into accessible content that resonates with target audiences
  • Experience in designing and carrying out logistics for events (e.g., workshops or symposia) for educator audiences (task analysis, materials, organizing calendars)
  • Knowledge of file management and administrative/business systems and procedures
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace(e.g., Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Experience with business tools such as Salesforce, Pardot and Google Sheets, or a willingness to learn quickly and effectively

Compensation

Consistent with our diversity, equity, and inclusion statement we strive to address systemic gaps in pay often present in our larger society as a result of gender, identity, or sexual orientation. All candidates are pay scaled by an independent third-party service or application which calculates the market rate for the applicant based on skills and qualifications, job duties, market conditions within the location of the applicant, education, and experience. This position’s compensation range begins at $52,000-63,000.
