The Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that works to heal the deep divisions tearing our country apart. We build educational tools to transform college campuses into inclusive learning environments that support dialogue across differences. To accomplish this goal, CDI translates the latest behavioral science research into educational resources that are evidence-based, practical, and scalable for campus leaders, administrators, faculty, staff, and students. While our educational tools are built primarily for use in higher education, they are also used in workplaces and high schools.

CDI was co-founded by psychologist Jonathan Haidt, the bestselling author of The Righteous Mind and The Coddling of the American Mind. Since launching in 2017, our tools have been used in more than 600 educational institutions and workplaces across the country.

About the role

The Program Manager will report to the VP of Growth, and work closely with the Director of Program Implementation to support the successful implementation of CDI’s tools and resources on college campuses across the country. This position will focus on project management, data tracking, and analysis related to our implementation of programs on college campuses. In addition, the Program Manager will help coordinate the virtual and in-person events and trainings we provide for campus partners, and will at times serve as a direct contact for partners, at the direction of the Director of Program Implementation. Beyond CDI’s higher ed programming, the Program Manager will also collaborate with the Director of Program Implementation, Director of Partnerships, and VP of Growth on project management and data tracking related to implementation within other sectors (high school, public service, corporate).

The position may require minimal travel, approximately 1-2 days per quarter.

Roles and Responsibilities

Implementation Management

  • Track implementation progress for the Growth team, utilizing goals and metrics dashboards to monitor performance against OKRs and growth strategies.
  • Manage implementation checklists for partnerships and growth initiatives in Asana, ensuring successful execution of programming as the organization grows and scales.
  • Coordinate internal tasks across multiple team members and departments, fostering collaboration, alignment, and shared understanding of processes, projects, and objectives.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, ensuring we are providing consistent communication and moving projects forward in a timely manner.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and areas for optimization in partnership management and implementation procedures.

Relationship Management

  • Schedule and conduct meetings with existing partners, providing support throughout implementation, addressing questions, and facilitating effective problem-solving.
  • Set up and manage virtual and in-person training and meetings with partners.
  • Coordinate with the Manager of Marketing and Communications on larger virtual partner events, such as webinars.
  • At times, support the Director of Partnerships with management of inbound inquiries, ensuring timely and effective follow-up to nurture leads and potential partnerships.
    • Direct inquiries to the appropriate member of the CDI team or directly respond and follow through on simple engagements related to CDI events, training, and use of Perspectives.

Data Management and Analysis

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HubSpot deals, collaborating with Operations to ensure alignment with budget forecasts.
  • Generate regular reports on partnership performance, implementation progress, and key metrics, communicating updates, challenges, and successes to internal stakeholders.
  • Occasionally support the Director of Partnerships in analyzing data patterns in HubSpot, including tracking inbound inquiries' sources and success rates at various stages of the pipeline for each sector.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Growth team members and Content, Research, Product, and Operations teams to ensure seamless alignment of goals and effective execution of CDI programming.
  • Foster open communication and coordination to enhance cross-functional collaboration.


  • 3-7 years of experience in partnership management, program coordination, or related roles, ideally within nonprofit organizations, EdTech, higher education, or K-12
  • Proficiency in CRM software, ideally HubSpot, able to extract insights and trends from data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams and external partners
  • Exceptional project management skills; proven ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously; experience with project management tools like Asana
  • Detail-oriented mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality results
  • A knack for identifying and addressing operational inefficiencies through continuous process improvement
