Program Manager

Climb Hire - San Francisco, California - Full time


Climb Hire is seeking a dynamic, gregarious, affable, rigorously accountable, and lovable Program Manager (PM) to support our curriculum, near peer learning community, and job placement strategy and implementation process. Our curriculum is divided into three parts: building deep and meaningful relationships, soft skills (communication, feedback, resumes, interview practice, etc.), and technical skills. The PM manages Climb Hire’s recruitment and selection process, career coaching, job placement efforts, and volunteer engagements.

The ideal candidate has worked or advised adults (18+); built thriving communities; is insanely outcomes-driven; has a good eye for looking at data and making programmatic changes based on key learnings; has experience and/or passion for economic mobility initiatives; and leads with a blend of warmth, heart, and accountability. Familiarity with Salesforce is not required but will be an important part of this role. The individual will be committed to achieving results in a fast-paced environment and able to handle a heavy workload.


  • Implement and iterate our redesigned soft-skill curriculum.
  • Work with our Salesforce Admin expert and educator to implement our technical training.
  • Maintain regular feedback and evaluation mechanisms for Climbers participating in the program.
  • Develop and lead a newly designed near peer training for Climb Hire alumni who will serve as teachers for the incoming cohort of students.
  • Develop and implement an accountability system for Climb Hire attendance, assignment completion, etc.
  • Rigorously analyze data to look for program insights and ways to improve our learning, community, and outcomes.
  • Assist with developing and overseeing an emerging volunteer program.
  • Support our Alumni Coordinator to manage the “pay it forward” payment process for successful alumni.
  • Support the Admissions Coordinator throughout the recruitment process via job postings, Climber referrals, nonprofit and community college partnerships, and other creative ideas.
  • Help support alumni’s ongoing connections with current Climbers by hosting community events and monthly webinars.
  • Assist with disseminating job opportunities to Climbers.


  • 3+ years of professional experience in career advising and/or workforce development sectors highly desired.
  • Strong quantitative skills to identify program improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and exceptional presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including leading weekday evening and Saturday programming 2-3 times per week.
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful and open to change; flexible and adaptable with a demonstrated success managing shifting priorities.
