Professional Development Specialist (Remote, Prince George's County, MD)

About the Role:

As a Professional Development Specialist, you will deliver highly engaging learning experiences for classroom educators, specialists, and administrators through virtual and in-person experiences. Professional Development Specialists present competent, expert information about DreamBox Math and Literacy solutions to ensure clients achieve the outcomes outlined for each learning session. As a member of the Professional Development team, you will also contribute to team education experiences, and follow all processes for recording essential information using internal systems.

As a PD Specialist, you bring classroom experience and education expertise that will contribute to evolving our professional learning services and content. Experience with presenting to adult audiences and a proven understanding of adult learning theory is required. A specialty in mathematics-related experience is a plus. This role will report to the Manager, Strategic Partnerships, and will be based out of Prince George's County, MD.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering highly engaging, world-class professional development experiences to educators both virtually and in-person.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to create an excellent client experience for customers.
  • Presenting competent, expert information that ensures client participants achieve the outcomes of the learning session.
  • Follow all PD processes, including timely recording of tasks and essential information.
  • Working seamlessly with Customer organization team members to effectively communicate workflow and next steps.
  • Routinely collaborating with the PD team, participating in internal training/learning opportunities, and appropriately contributing in all team meetings.
  • Communicating effectively with internal teams and external clients.
  • Capably and confidently making informed adjustments to support clients.
  • Using data to determine needs and validate solutions for specific educators and schools.
  • Consulting with school staff and developing plans for Professional Development.
  • Actively scheduling PD sessions and other engagements.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Masters required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in K-12 classroom
  • At least 3 years of experience delivering professional development sessions & knowledge of adult learning
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Previous experience training adults with technology products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent intrapersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with teachers and administrators
  • Ability to be flexible and able to adapt to immediate or unforeseen challenges
  • Ability to travel locally to schools weekly and/or drive for multiple hours at a time
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours during on-site trainings (with or without reasonable accommodations)
  • Ability to lift 10-25 lbs. (on-site training supplies, etc.)

LOCATION: Although this role is remote, candidates must be located in Prince George's County, MD.

Compensation and Benefits:

Expected base salary range for this position is $69,630 – $96,680USD per year based on several factors, including experience and geography. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus or sales commission bonus, depending on the role, and benefits that are designed to support you & your family. If you are hired at DreamBox Learning, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on considerations such as geographic location, skills, responsibilities of the role, education, and/or relevant experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the compensation of our current team members as a part of evaluating and extending any final offer.
