Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF - is a well-funded, non-profit based in Palo Alto, CA, with a mission to revolutionize the teaching of personal finance in all schools and to improve the financial lives of the next generation of Americans. We believe that ALL young people deserve a personal finance education that’s free, high-quality, and accessible.

Founded in June 2014, NGPF’s curriculum and professional development activities support over 10,000 high school finance educators serving close to a million students. Our work has been featured in theNew York Times, Wall Street Journal, Channel One News and has been recognized by the national trade association for innovative leadership in the personal finance education space. We are looking for a passionate and energetic professional to scale our professional development efforts.

As a Professional Development Leader, you will facilitate NGPF teacher training initiatives which include FinCamps (one-day workshops), FinCamp+ (three-day workshops) and conference sessions. Our FinCamps have received rave reviews (avg. score of 9.8/10 from participants) and we have ambitious plans to scale these programs to reach educators in all fifty states over the next 18 months. You will play a critical role in accomplishing this goal. The position will be based in our Palo Alto, CA office.

We are located in downtown Palo Alto just off University Ave, within a 7 minute walk to Caltrain.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and deliver 1-3 day training and professional development (PD) workshops for personal finance educators
  • Develop customized PD for small groups of educators at local San Francisco Bay Area schools
  • Communicate teacher feedback gleaned from workshops to NGPF team members focused on curriculum and teacher engagement
  • Analyze data to make recommendations on how to improve our teacher PD offerings
  • Contribute ideas on how we can continue to support educators in new ways
  • Extensive travel to conduct PD workshops; up to 50% in peak summer months


  • 3+ years of classroom teaching experience
  • Strong and engaging public speaker with excellent presentation skills
  • Experience leading teacher PD sessions/workshops
  • Mission-oriented with desire to increase access to personal financial education for all
  • Proven ability to work successfully and autonomously in fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to take on additional tasks that are outside the job description and advance our work
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Willingness to frequently travel locally and potentially around the country
  • Sense of urgency when completing critical tasks
  • Bachelor’s degree
