Product Owner, Supplemental and Intervention Solutions- K-12 Math

Day in the Life

In this role, you will use your product management skills to make a difference by ensuring tasks and deliveries are prioritized and up-to-date for on-time delivery of innovative and exciting instructional programs for struggling K-12 students and their teachers. You will collaborate closely in an Agile environment with cross-functional product development teams (e.g., the core project team, Engineering, Product Marketing, Editorial, Design, Market Intelligence & Research, Project Management, QA, etc.) and build and own components and projects in multiple initiatives.

What you need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Solid understanding of and prior experience working on cross-functional teams utilizing Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g. JIRA, Slack, Kanban Boards)
  • Excellent communication skills. Whether having a one-on-one discussion, facilitating a team meeting, or presenting to stakeholders, communicate at the right level for the right audience
  • Demonstrated success managing projects and leading teams
  • Proven success acting as a liaison between technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Nice to have

  • 3 years participating in or managing cross-functional product development teams
  • 3 years technology industry and/or education
  • Knowledge of education technology (K-12) industry, knowledge of K-12 English learner market, user experience (educators and students), and classroom needs
  • Agile Scrum Master Certification
  • Knowledge of Pragmatic Marketing Framework
  • Familiarity with HMH products, development processes, technology infrastructure, and organizational culture

Physical requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
