Product Marketing lead

PlayMada Games is looking for an independent, detail-oriented, savvy, self starter to work closely with our product team to design and execute a wide range of marketing and sales initiatives. Key to this role will be an in-depth understanding of the product in order to build a strategy to communicate its value to prospective customers. The marketing lead will be responsible for generating awareness of our products and build MQLs that can be put into a sales pipeline. They will report to the Founder/CEO and work closely with the Executive Creative Director and the Outreach Manager.

This role requires a diverse skill set that includes the ability and willingness to develop deep product knowledge, strong written and customer-facing communication skills, competitive and market analysis abilities, presentation skills, and strategic vision for driving sales and meeting business growth objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own marketing communications by developing and executing a strategic marketing plan that will result in increased product visibility and profitable growth
  • Work with our product team to develop in-depth knowledge about the product and its benefits in the classroom
  • Create compelling, clear, and concise messaging to explain the product’s value propositions
  • Brainstorm, execute, and optimize targeted, creative, content marketing campaigns across multiple channels including but not limited to social media, email, SEO, landing page generation, live events, etc.
  • Develop, execute, and manage the lead generation and conversion funnel
  • Identify opportunities to participate in conferences and other events, and help develop and execute strategies to maximize the effectiveness of our participation
  • Work with our Pedagogy and Outreach leads to generate and bolster attendance for webinars, teacher workshops, and other promotional events
  • Help coordinate conference and event logistics
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure effectiveness
  • Utilize and understand data to continuously improve efficiency of marketing tactics
  • Research and manage partnerships that will drive user growth and brand recognition
  • Maintain our presence on external sites and ensure any info is accurate and up to date

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field preferred
  • 2+ years experience in performance marketing (paid search, paid social, SEO, email) with track record of success
  • Know how to work in a startup environment and how to get your hands dirty
  • Data oriented
  • Can build and tell a story
  • Creative thinker
  • Tech and social media savvy
  • Passion for education and love of science
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and wordpress
  • Knowledge of marketing tools (mailchimp, hootsuite, etc)
  • Self-motivated, self guided, team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail/proofreading skills
