Product Manager

Homeschool Buyers Co-op - Remote - Full time

Job Summary

Homeschool Buyers Co-op is looking for a Product Manager to join our Operations team. You are a high-energy candidate with experience in successfully sourcing and working with educational product publishers, including digital curriculum/school licenses, book/inventory curriculum and supplements, and other consumer educational products for an organization.

The ideal candidate also has experience in marketing to the education industry, is proactive, resourceful, self-motivated and able to juggle multiple priorities. You should also be detail-oriented, organized and can use quantitative metrics to support recommendations. This role reports to the COO but will also work closely with the Product Implementation Team as well as the Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop a high-level product road map for the Co-op
  • Respond to daily inquiries from interested educational publishers by assessing the quality of their offerings and how products can fit into the Co-op catalog (site)
  • Meet with and draft proposals/agreements for prospective new educational product publishers, including business model terms based on Co-op parameters
  • Develop productive and profitable relationships with educational product publishers
  • Work with the Product Implementation Team to successfully launch new products into the Co-op catalog
  • Coordinate with marketing on dates and time periods for those publishers who appear periodically at the Co-op
  • Perform data analysis of product acquisition efforts and provide results, as needed
  • Define and develop a periodic marketing communication program for the Co-op’s educational product publishers/partners
  • Attend Homeschool Conferences on an as needed basis to look for new products
  • Take on special Product Projects, as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree or higher
  • 4-6 years of product marketing in the education market, preferably with experience in the homeschool market
  • Ability to think and perform both strategically and tactically
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity; willing to identify and fill gaps where necessary to get the job done
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Experience doing data analysis and creating dashboard analytics
  • Knowledge of performance metrics and using tools such as Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of HTML, Excel, and Image/Graphic Programs (e.g., Canva, Snagit, etc.)
  • Strong writing and communications skills
  • Positive, team player attitude

Required education:

  • Bachelor's

Required experience:

  • Curriculum Product Sourcing and Product Management Experience, preferably in the education market: 4-6 years

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience
