Product Manager II or Senior Product Manager

ACT - Iowa City, Iowa or Remote - Full time

Position objective: The Senior Product Manager provides experienced product management leadership and is accountable for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of products throughout their lifecycle, as well as supporting the need for continuous incremental innovation that results in a world class user experience. The Product Manager II is responsible for the execution of the day-to-day development, management, service, and operational aspects of the product strategy.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical work-related activities include:

Senior Product Manager

  • Execution of product strategies including product launch and sunset
  • Achieving volume, revenue, and margin targets as well as other key performance metrics
  • Manage product change including release of new versions, operational and system updates
  • Analysis of desirability, viability, and feasibility for incremental innovations of products
  • Collaborate with Corporate Market Research team on qualitative and quantitative market research
  • Support development of business cases
  • Utilizing Agile methodology, prepare epics, break down epics into features, and prioritize while working closely with product owner and other key business owner(s)
  • Day-to-day management of product related strategic partnerships
  • Monitoring and management of commercial readiness for new and existing products and services including development and management of product service models
  • Strong customer advocate able to provide insight into educational market and competitor trends
  • Support development and communication of product road map and vision
  • Collaborate with product managers, product owners, business analysts and cross functional teams
  • Collaborate with product marketing, marketing, and sales to drive revenue for products

  • Product roadmap development and communication
  • Create volume and revenue forecasting
  • Coordinate operational support for multiple areas including technical, customer service, professional development, and implementation
  • Business case development
  • Conduct analytics on product performance
  • Support product launches and sunsets
  • Develop and execute product pricing and packaging strategies
  • Develop and refresh annual product strategy
  • Create market research strategy
  • Develop product marketing strategy
  • Provide legal support including policies and terms
  • RFP support
  • Support early adopter testing and field testing/studies
  • Identify and support development of strategic sales tools
  • Develop strategy and content for internal/external training
  • Develop and deliver internal and external product presentations and demos
  • Collaborate with product marketing, marketing, and sales to drive revenue for products
  • Support development of technical documentation and online help

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Senior Product Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business administration or marketing
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

Product Manager II

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area required, preferably in business or education
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

Experience:

Senior Product Manager

  • Minimum of five years’ experience either in product management or development required
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in education industry or for an education institution preferred
  • Experience with the following preferred:
      • Digital marketing and sales enablement
      • Lean and Agile software development principles and tools
      • Pragmatic Marketing Framework preferred
      • Online assessments
      • Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Canvas

Product Manager II

  • Three years of experience either in product management, product marketing, or marketing required
