Product Manager - eduCLIMBER - Remote

Illuminate Education - Irvine, California or Remote - Full time

Position Overview

The Product Manager will work with cross-functional partners to guide aspects of eduCLIMBER -- an Illuminate Education flagship product -- from conception to product launch. Leveraging an understanding of edtech, data analysis and MTSS, along with product management experience, this person will work collaboratively with end-users to understand what problems Illuminate Education can solve for them. The Product Manager will understand customer needs, write high-quality software requirements, and work accordingly to deliver ongoing value while communicating those needs and solutions internally and externally. This individual will also take a collaborative and data-driven approach to defining product requirements, determining metrics and user-feedback cycles to gauge usage and success, iterate accordingly, and inspiring cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to guide product development from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds.
  • Translate highly complex problems into work and priorities that enables rapid, iterative development.
  • Gather requirements and partner with cross-functional teams to create specifications for development.
  • Write user stories and manage a backlog, roadmap, and product launch.
  • Work with engineering leads to find solutions across multiple technology stacks.
  • Work cross-functionally to prioritize backlogs and manage feature rollout.
  • Clearly communicate rationale for prioritization, challenges, and solutions.
  • Serve as “Product Owner” for various scrum teams, including maintaining a groomed backlog.
  • Monitor data on feature rollout to help gauge success and take relevant action.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • BA/BS required.
  • 3+ years of experience in edtech software product management.
  • Passion for solving customer problems.
  • Ability to understand, explain, and write technical requirements.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Agile and user-centric product design and development approaches.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; particularly across distributed and remote teams.
  • Experience delivering quality products within deadlines.
  • Experience with workflow software.
  • Highly organized and a motivated self-starter.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
