About the PositionThe Learner Variability Project (LVP) is hiring a seasoned Education Leader to drive our work supporting school and district teachers and leaders in integrating research-based learner variability supports for the full diversity of learners. The LVP is a large initiative that works with the world’s top learning scientists to distill the latest research on how learners vary and what research-based strategies support those variabilities.


  • Establish LVP Vision for impacting administrators and practitioners to integrate the LVP framework and support the full diversity of learners in schools and districts
  • Develop and implement strategy for driving awareness, understanding and adoption of LVP frameworks and tools to support teaching and learning
  • Catalyze relationships and design high impact partnerships with districts, schools, education non-profits and and practitioner support networks
  • Present at schools, districts, and conferences to grow awareness of learner variability as a concept and the strategies and uses of LVP tools
  • Design and implement professional development programs and strategies for scaling, such as online materials and resources, coaching and train the trainer models.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the latest learning sciences, learner variability and research based effective strategies to support learner diversity
  • Provide feedback on the LVP tool design from a practitioner perspective
  • Collaborate with the Digital Promise micro-credentials team on developing and promoting competency based performance assessments for educators aligned to the LVP framework
  • Establish and use methodologies to measure the reach and impact of partnerships on educator understanding and adoption of LVP practices


  • Experience: 10+ years experience in education
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to catalyze, design, and launch teacher professional development and support programs in school districts and teacher networks
  • Understanding of learner variability across cognitive and psychological processes and instructional supports for a wide diversity of learners, including ELLs and students with learning differences.
  • Ability to advise and lead teams of practitioners and teacher leaders
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with senior district, school, and network executives.
  • Ability to present publicly at conferences and inspire action
  • Ability to travel around 20%-25% of the time
