Our work fosters growth in teachers as instructional leaders, in parents as support partners, and in students as learners who can meet the challenge of high academic standards.

We partner with schools, districts, and after-school hubs to provide teachers with coaching and students and parents with devices and training. Underlying our work is our free web platform, PowerMyLearning Connect, already in use in more than 40% of school communities nationwide. We have demonstrated impact on student achievement and love of learning; teacher instructional practices; and parental confidence.

Position Description

PowerMyLearning provides schools and districts with customized professional learning support in developing sustainable blended learning practices that advance personalized instruction, meaningfully engage families, and drive student ownership and mastery. We are currently in an exciting period of growth as an organization as we work to scale our personalized learning professional development model to schools around the nation. As a result, we have an immediate opportunity for a Personalized Learning Specialist who will play an integral role in leading blended and personalized professional learning partnerships with schools and districts nationwide. This will involve a combination of face-to-face and remote, web-based offerings that develop educator practice around blended and personalized learning.

In addition, the successful candidate will support the Director of Programs in the development of service offerings and educator resources that support our direct and train-the-trainer delivery models.

This position reports to the Director of Programs in Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role align with organizational goals dedicated towards scaling our professional learning offerings nationally. These responsibilities include:

  • Primary
  1. Leading the implementation of PowerMyLearning professional development offerings for partner schools/districts outside of our existing regions to support the effective implementation of personalized learning practices
  2. Delivering top-quality presentations, including demos and other content, for key school and district decision-makers, funders, strategic thought partners, and staff as needed
  • Secondary
  1. Supporting the development of PD program materials (including online PD playlists that can support anytime, anywhere learning for teachers)
  2. Supporting the Director of Professional Learning in managing professional learning offerings and program materials, to including updating existing program support materials as needed
  3. Supporting the collection and analysis of relevant impact data from professional development partnerships to ensure overall program effectiveness
  4. Conducting research into educator needs, industry trends, and competitive professional development offerings to help shape the quality and relevance of PowerMyLearning offerings
  5. Supporting internal communication processes to ensure professional development learnings from the field adequately inform product improvements and service delivery, building a shared knowledge base within the organization
  6. Participating in cross-regional collaboration efforts with PD staff to share best practices and facilitate organizational learning to improve our offerings
  7. Other duties as assigned

Candidate Qualifications

  • Passion for PowerMyLearning's mission
  • Masters degree in education or related field
  • At least three years classroom teaching experience
  • At least three years of professional development experience
  • Deep knowledge of and interest in personalized learning and educational technology
  • Strategic knowledge of best practices to support blended learning, data-driven instruction, student agency, and family engagement
  • Understanding of educator evaluation frameworks, professional teaching standards, standards for professional learning, and student learning standards (including Common Core State Standards and Next Generation science Standards)
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization
  • Ability to travel to partnership locations as needed (approx 30%)
