Opportunity Development Specialist - Education

Lexia Learning - Harrisonburg, Virginia - Full time

We are currently looking for new Opportunity Development Specialist team members in the Harrisonburg, VA office. This team supports business development in our Government, Corporate and Higher Education sectors and is responsible for following up on leads generated via marketing campaigns and sales activities, learning and understanding the complexities of selling into multiple markets, and working with the sales team members and with internal stakeholders collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop leads through outbound call efforts that result from company conferences, user groups, trade shows, mailers, webinars, sales programs and other activities in a timely, systematic approach
  • Supplement territory manager visits through designated sales calls
  • Re-qualify outdated sales opportunities using reports from Salesforce.com
  • Use a consultative sales approach to identify the customer’s needs and promote appropriate solutions during
  • Understand and translate key industry trends and developments to effectively position Rosetta Stone solutions and overcome any sales objections
  • Conduct cold calls, gather sales intelligence in a methodical way, handle objections persuasively
  • When applicable, disseminate leads to the appropriate department and representative
  • Exceed quarterly MBOs

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • College degree required
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales prospecting and cold calling environment
  • Proven track record of success working in a fast paced sales organization
  • Ability to work with and answer to different personalities and work styles
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and independent decision-maker with a propensity for problem solving
  • Ability to identify and engage decision-makers and influencers at all levels of an organization
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and communication skills a must
  • Experience selling multiple products and services to individual accounts
  • Professional upbeat telephone voice, strong probing skills, and persistent attitude
  • High technical aptitude, skilled in the use of MS Office Suite; Salesforce.com experience a plus
