BIE creates, collects, and shares high-quality PBL tools and resources with K-12 teachers and leaders across the country. Position Summary

The Project Assistant will work closely with the Director of Online Learning as well as internal and external personnel to help the Online Learning and Curriculum Teams bring new services and products to market as well as improve those offerings. This position will require several skills including project management, client support, and reporting. The Project Assistant will also help support product pilots, organize user feedback, uploading content to the Buck Institute for Education’s online learning platform, formatting and updating digital content, and supporting quality assurance.

In order to be successful, the Project Assistant will collaborate across organizations and stakeholder groups, including the Marketing Team, Curriculum Team, and the Online Learning Team. This position will help support service development and updates are effectively managed, delivered, and exceed expectations. The Project Assistant may also interface with and/or vendors and contract workers.

Responsibilities:

●Work collaboratively with the project manager and team to maximize productivity

●Organize and monitor schedules and see that deadlines are met

●Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants efficiently

●Report updates verbally and in written form to management

●Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as research

●Demonstrate commitment to clients’ needs

●Maintain a database of product feedback

●Perform Quality Assurance duties for online product and services

●Publish new content to the online learning platform

●Update and maintain content through the direction of the Online Learning and Curriculum Teams

●Collaborate with the curriculum team, and other stakeholders, to help support online products and service offerings that are consistent with the organization’s standards and support a unified experience for BIE’s partners

●Coordinate and communicate product management with stakeholders

●Maintain project documentation, including user feedback

●Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Abilities:

●Associate’s or bachelor’s degree. A degree in education or instructional design is preferred

●1-2 years of experience with online learning, learning management systems (LMS), content management, and community or social platforms

●Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

●Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem solving

●Able to proactively address potential issues

●Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and tasks

●Collaborative working style and team-player attitude and ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams

●Positive and encouraging attitude

●Able to work independently

●Highly motivated with a strong work ethic

●Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to team’s success

●Outstanding organizational skills

●Teaching experience a plus

●Ability to compose and edit HTML a plus

●Previous office experience preferred

●A belief that equity and inclusion is critical for our students and for the Buck Institute for Education

●Fluent in using Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Google suite applications

Reporting & Relationships

The Online Learning Project Assistant reports to the Director of Online Learning. They will have critical collegial relationshipswith the Online Learning Manager andthe Curriculum and Program Manager.

Location

The job is located in BIE headquarters in Novato, CA. The position will include some travel to key events and conferences.

Compensation / Benefits

This is a full-time non-exempt position with full health benefits (including medical, vision and dental), generous retirement contribution, life and disability insurance and an internet and cell phone stipend.
