We are looking for an ambitious and energetic individual to help us expand our market footprint across North America. This individual will be responsible for research, outreach and managing relationships in the K-12 educational technology space with a focus on both new and existing clients. The primary focus of this position is to drive sustainable financial growth by boosting sales and forging strong relationships with stakeholders from the district to the state level.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify business opportunities and potential avenues for growth by researching industry trends, competitive environments and related events in the K-12 educational technology marketplace
  • Conduct state by state research to identify the viability of our organization’s products and services in the K-12 educational technology marketplace
  • Meet the specific registration requirements, complete grant program applications and engage in legislative processes for educational technology programs at the state and regional levels
  • Engage with each state’s Department of Education stakeholders to promote the value of our organization at both the district and statewide program levels
  • Collaborate with lobbyists to ensure our interests are properly presented and conveyed to all key legislative and department of education committees
  • Locate potential business deals by contacting potential partners, discovering new opportunities and determining how each opportunity fits into the overall strategy for the organization
  • Prepare state and industry level sales briefings to ensure that the value of our products and services are properly communicated to all key stakeholders from superintendents to state legislators
  • Participate in state and national tradeshows to promote our organization’s products and services
  • Conduct and oversee registration processes for third-party credentialing agencies
  • Keep detailed records in SalesForce.com of all communications related to new business projects and initiatives

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proven sales track record in and knowledge of the K-12 education market
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the K-12 educational technology market
  • Communication, writing and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
  • BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
