Multimedia Production Coordinator

The World Science Foundation is hiring a Multimedia Production Coordinator to support its expanding education initiative, World Science Scholars.

Program Description: World Science Scholars identifies and selects a small group of high school sophomores and juniors worldwide who have demonstrated extraordinary mathematical talent and provides them with a unique opportunity to grapple with challenging ideas and explore new disciplines in which to apply their skills. In the process, students expand their perspectives, and new pathways open along which their genius can flourish, facilitating their potential to spark revolutionary breakthroughs.

The program fosters and sustains a vibrant community of exceptionally talented math students, esteemed professors, dedicated teaching fellows, and dynamic local mentors. This accomplished group is connected in-person at the annual World Science Festival in New York City and digitally through a robust social learning platform featuring interactive online courses, as well as riveting lectures and live sessions by leading scientists.

About the Opportunity: The Multimedia Production Coordinator will support the Director of Education Strategy and Initiatives by performing a variety of administrative and production tasks essential to the research, development, production, post-production, and support of online courses and in person learning events.


  • In coordination with Director of Education, organize workflow and identify milestones for every phase of program development, from initial R&D to final production.
  • Keep program materials, schedules, databases, and other administrative documentation up to date.
  • Support the Lead Education Specialist and Subject Matter Experts with research, course design, course building, and live session set-up and execution.
  • Coordinate the development, production, and delivery of video, slides, audio, demonstrations, performances, and exhibition elements for online and in person programs.
  • Manage the online learning platform, including content integration, user registration, licensing, quality control, maintenance, new feature requests, and documentation.
  • Assist in the creation, design, research, and dissemination of program-related web and outreach material, such as newsletters, social media messages, and slide decks.
  • Process student applications, assignments, and notifications.
  • Attend and support the successful production of programmed events and needs of participants.
  • Other duties as assigned, including meeting scheduling, call sheet management, travel planning, catering, and invoicing.

Qualifications and Special Requirements:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and G Suite products; familiarity with content management systems and learning platforms such as WordPress, Canvas, or Moodle desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; science and math background a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through; creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Can predict, identify, and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Community management and social engagement experience helpful.
  • Able to work long and/or flexible hours when needed.
  • Superb integrity and professionalism.
  • Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ideal for someone looking to transition from a Production Assistant role.
