The Mastery Transcript Consortium (MTC) seeks a dynamic Membership Development Representative (MDR) to join our member engagement team and work closely with our CEO in spearheading member recruitment and advancing the organization’s continued growth and success. An innovative network of nearly 400 public and private schools, MTC serves schools and districts that are embracing learner-centered, competency-based models, and connects them with other MTC schools and MTC resources, including the Mastery Transcript and the new MTC Learning Record, both unique, digital, competency-based credentials. Our small virtual team is experienced, innovative, mission-driven, and collaborative.

Essential Functions

As MDR in this new and vital school-facing position, you will help take MTC’s member recruitment practices to the next level. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive engagement with potential school and district members by actively pursuing existing leads, generating targeted campaigns to surface new leads, and responding to all inbound inquiries regarding potential membership.
  • Understand and convey to prospective members the key points of MTC’s mission, value, and strategy.
  • Participate in building national awareness of the tools, products and solutions MTC offers to innovative school and district leaders by collaborating with team members to shape and disseminate compelling outreach materials, and communicating with partner organizations and other advocates to ensure they are well informed about MTC solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service by responding promptly and effectively to all relevant in-person and email communications.
  • Support design and implementation of the processes and communications core to MTC’s annual member renewal cycle.
  • Manage, track, and report on all sales activities and results, and maintain timely, accurate records of all external-facing member recruitment interactions in Salesforce.
  • Achieve call, email and activity metrics which will be set weekly and measured monthly.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of experience in business development: lead generation, sales, and/or marketing with success in a results-driven environment, ideally at a B2B SaaS company
  • Experience working with public K-12 schools, and familiarity with &/or interest in learning about innovative K–12 learning models
  • Experience working in edtech or with non-profit member organizations or associations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Salesforce, YAMM and Google platforms

Compensation

The starting base salary range for this position is $50,000 - 60,000 plus benefits. Hitting targeted metrics in key areas will result in incentive compensation of an additional $15,000 - $20,000 per year.

A fully virtual national nonprofit organization, MTC was founded to accelerate and support secondary schools’ ability to practice mastery learning at scale. Established and growing as a global consortium of innovative public and private schools implementing new learning models, MTC co-creates interactive, digital tools that both empower learners to showcase the competencies they master and enable schools to credential competency-based education. We partner with colleges, universities, and other end users to ensure they can adopt these new credentials that help learners navigate the intersection of high school, postsecondary education, and work.
