Marketing Manager, Rosetta Stone (San Mateo, CA)

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 12 million students worldwide, is looking for a Marketing Manager to own the marketing strategy for two of our language learning products: Rosetta Stone for Education and Vocabulary.com.

Rosetta Stone is the leading expert in language learning, and its K-12 offering helps English-language learners and world language students build the skills and confidence to succeed in school and beyond. Vocabulary.com is a platform for systematic, lasting vocabulary improvement that makes word learning fun through activities like the Vocabulary Bowl, Vocabulary Jams, The Challenge, and more.

In this player-coach role, you will lead the development of compelling positioning and campaigns to support brand awareness and customer acquisition (targeting teachers and school/district administrators), product launches, user engagement, and more. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, a strong communicator, organized, and passionate about IXL’s mission to impact education.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Own and execute the integrated marketing strategy and define marketing messaging and positioning for Rosetta Stone for Education and Vocabulary.com
  • Create go-to-market strategies for new product launches, including both internal and external communications
  • Write and edit marketing content (such as landing pages, blog posts, emails, customer engagement materials, sales enablement materials)
  • Identify, engage with, and leverage brand advocates
  • Collaborate with key members of Marketing, Product, and Curriculum teams to develop and execute on marketing initiatives as needed
  • Manage and mentor Marketing Coordinator

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • BA/BS degree
  • 7-9 years of product marketing, content marketing, or integrated marketing experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of managing, coaching, and motivating direct reports
  • Written communication: You are an exceptional writer that knows how to clearly communicate a message and make every word count. You can switch easily from writing a messaging about a new product feature, to crafting an impactful marketing email, to developing a lighthearted blog post
  • Strategic thinking: You are able to consider an idea from all angles, ask smart questions, and make thoughtful decisions that align with company needs and values
  • You get things done: You’re a self-starter, detail- and deadline-oriented, organized, resourceful, and have the ability to manage projects from start to finish
  • Interpersonal skills: You’re both an effective coach and a team player, have excellent verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work cross-functionally
