SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Marketing Manager develops and implements a broad range of cross-channel campaigns for the Museum of Science that support brand awareness, digital offerings, exhibitions, films and other strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Director, Integrated Marketing Communications, the Marketing Manager serves as the primary day-to-day liaison to internal clients and partners, advertising agency partners, and media partners to ensure that all components of our integrated campaigns are delivered successfully, on time, on budget, and on brand. As a key partner in campaign planning, the Marketing Manager develops creative strategies and tactics that drive museum attendance, brand awareness, online engagement, and the MOS value proposition. The person in this role is a marketing generalist who understands the marketing mix inclusive of TV, radio, digital, social and experiential. This role will also analyze our marketplace, our campaign results, and our customers' needs to help drive through continuous improvement of our marketing programs and campaigns. They must also possess advanced client relationship management skills and be a highly effective project manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements integrated marketing campaigns to support Museum attendance and brand goals-- including 3 to 6 major campaigns per year and several minor campaigns.
  • Acts as the lead project manager for internal clients across a range of exhibits, programs, theaters and community initiatives. and brand marketing campaigns - scheduling, vetting plans, obtaining approvals, reconciling budgets, etc.
  • Manages the budget and day-to-day advertising/media agency relationship to ensure that campaigns meet museum objectives, inclusive of all creative, messaging and media.
  • Ensures that campaign elements across all channels (inclusive of radio, TV, out of home, digital, social, etc.) are well-coordinated, on brand, and launch on time and on budget.
  • Serves as the Museum's primary point of contact to promotional partners at 6-10 radio stations, newspapers, TV stations, online sites, and other media companies, nurturing relationships and identifying opportunities to leverage partners to advance Museum goals.
  • Works with internal and external partners to manage our reporting infrastructure and communicates campaign results out to the organization on a monthly basis.
  • Develops and executes 8+ Marketing-sponsored events or initiatives per year that attract guests to the museum, including event concepts, guiding collateral development, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on advertising strategy.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is regular, full-time, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 40 hrs/week

REPORTS TO:

Senior Director, Integrated Marketing Communications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post high school course work, technical degree, associate's degree, business or vocational certificate.
  • 5 or more years of marketing or related field experience. Proven verbal and written communications skills
  • Previous marketing/advertising/promotions experience for a consumer-facing brand
  • Past experience executing mass media and out of home marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience with media metrics, reporting and analytics
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Demonstrated people skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated relationship-builder who is able to partner cross-functionally and work effectively with various levels of the organization
  • Practical experience using Google Analytics

STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried). $70,000 - $75,000 / year
