Marketing Manager, IXL (San Mateo, CA)

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 14 million students worldwide, is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the product marketing and content marketing strategy for our flagship product, IXL. In this role, you will be responsible for developing go-to-market strategies for new IXL products/features, and impactful content marketing programs, with the aim of growing and engaging our large customer base of educators, parents, and students. You will also manage a team of Marketing Associates and lead them in developing creative and compelling product messaging and marketing content (from email copy and landing pages to print collateral, blog posts, video scripts, social media content, and more).

The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, collaborative, a strong communicator, organized, and passionate about IXL’s mission to impact education.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Own and execute the IXL product marketing and content marketing strategies, ensuring alignment to broader marketing and organizational goals
  • Create go-to-market strategies for product launches, including internal and external and external communications and messaging
  • Drive the development of high-quality marketing content, from defining goals, to developing editorial calendars, to writing and editing copy, to working cross-functionally on design and execution
  • Manage and mentor a team of Marketing Associates
  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional projects across Marketing and other departments, including Digital Marketing, Regional Marketing, Product Development, Sales, and more.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • BA/BS degree
  • 9+ years of product marketing, content marketing, and/or integrated marketing experience (preferably a combination of B2B and B2C)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of managing, coaching, and motivating direct reports
  • Written communication: You are an exceptional writer and editor who knows how to clearly communicate a message and make every word count. You can switch easily from writing a messaging about a new product feature, to crafting an impactful marketing email, to developing a lighthearted blog post
  • Strategic thinking: You are able to consider an idea from all angles, ask smart questions, and make thoughtful decisions that align with company needs and values
  • You get things done: You’re a self-starter, detail- and deadline-oriented, organized, and resourceful. You have the ability to manage projects from start to finish and rally stakeholders around a common goal
  • Interpersonal skills: You’re both an effective coach and a team player, have excellent verbal communication skills, and can successfully collaborate and work cross-functionally
