On average, U.S. students are with substitute teachers for 5% of the typical school year. That means our students have substitute teachers for more than six months of their K-12 school career. The problem? We're suffering from a national shortage of substitute teachers.Swing Education is focused on tackling the substitute teacher shortage. We make it easy for great schools and quality subs to find each other. We help schools access more subs and offload tedious work (recruiting, screening, payroll, etc.) and we help subs find jobs, gain experience and build their professional network.

Swing is a revenue generating, Series B, YC company (through ImagineK12).

The Position

The Content and Social Marketing Manager will create, manage and execute on marketing content for schools and teachers, including content and copy for our blog, social media channels and sales collateral. An ideal candidate for this position is an excellent writer, creative, proactive, and resourceful, with collaborative approach and a keen sense of business acumen. You must be flexible to work in a fast-paced, highly interactive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing unique and compelling thought leadership content to attract schools, districts and substitute teachers, convert leads and increase brand awareness
  • Manage the Swing blog and resource center, providing editorial oversight ensuring quality and consistency of brand voice across all published content
  • Develop and execute on strategies for Swing’s social channels and engage community members
  • Write and review copy for various marketing touchpoints – including content, emails, sales collateral, website copy and more
  • Manage projects with design, sales, product, customer experience and other cross-functional teams to ensure that high-quality assets are developed on time and on budget
  • Determine the asset formats and define topics that will maximize audience engagement and lead generation potential. Measure the success of our content strategy, regularly analyzing and presenting the results
  • Keep current with the education / marketing industry, including influencers and trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or similar field
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, journalism or related field
  • Content and/or community management experience, and the ability to manage detailed projects with tight timelines
  • Exceptional communications, writing and editing skills
  • Highly collaborative and capable of managing contributors indirectly in a dynamic environment
  • High-energy, self-directed and team oriented, passionate about solving substitute teacher shortage for schools and teachers
