Product Marketing Manager at Quill.org

Quill.org - Remote - Full time

Quill.org aims to help all students become strong writers and critical thinkers.

In 2018, Fast Company recognized Quill.org as one of the Top 10 Most Innovative Education Companies of 2018 alongside Duolingo, Sesame Workshop, and Coursera. As an open-source organization, we work with a large community of developers and educators to build free online literacy tools to advance our mission of helping low-income K-12 students become strong writers and critical thinkers. Building on a strong pedagogical foundation and innovative use of machine learning and natural language processing, we aim to serve 10 million students in the next five years.

Quill currently offers six free online learning tools that bring the power of cutting-edge AI technology into the classroom: Quill Connect, Quill Lessons, Quill Diagnostic, Quill Proofreader, Quill Grammar, and Quill Reading for Evidence. With our newest tool, Quill Reading for Evidence, Quill has expanded our offerings from writing instruction to a tool that improves both writing and reading comprehension. Quill is currently developing activities for ELA, social studies, and science classrooms, focusing on texts that examine 21st-century issues.

While Quill’s learning tools are free, schools and districts can purchase Quill Premium for additional analytics, live and asynchronous professional learning, and implementation support. We currently have approximately 60 district partners nationwide and are focused on driving continued partnership growth.

The Product Marketing Manager Role:

Quill.org is currently searching for a product marketing manager who will directly manage efforts to raise Quill’s overall brand awareness and help drive earned revenue by generating and nurturing leads for Quill Premium.

The product marketing manager will be accountable for the entire marketing funnel, finding and addressing issues in the marketing funnel to prevent and reduce customer churn and identifying opportunities to grow Quill’s premium customer acquisition.

The ideal candidate cares deeply about education and is excited to help drive growth and impact. This role is for someone who is a self-starter, highly efficient and organized, enjoys troubleshooting, and excels in dynamic and fast-paced environments. This individual contributor role is on Quill’s partnerships team and reports to the VP of Partnerships and Professional Services.

  • Proposing new and improved inbound and outbound marketing campaign ideas

This role may be a good fit for you if:

You have strong “top of funnel” marketing skills, with experience in growth, content, and/or inbound marketing. You’re comfortable creating systems, troubleshooting, figuring things out, and always learning. You want to work for a small, collaborative, dynamic organization, take ownership end-to-end, and do what it takes to get multiple campaigns launched.

You’re organized, methodical, and lean into understanding the data and people; you are familiar with marketing funnel metrics and can speak to supporting moving the needle regarding lead generation and revenue growth.
