Marketing and Digital Strategy Lead

The AI Education Project - Remote - Full time

The AI Education Project (aiEDU) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that creates equitable educational experiences to excite and empower learners everywhere with AI literacy.We educate students—especially those disproportionately impacted by artificial intelligence and automation—with the conceptual knowledge and skills they need to thrive as future workers, creators, consumers, and citizens.

We’re looking for an experienced Marketing and Digital Strategy Lead to join our External team. You will work with team members throughout the organization, including our Chief Executive Officer, interns, and contracted vendors, to grow aiEDU’s visibility and overall brand—all with the end goal of reaching and impacting more students.

This role will have ownership over several aspects of a small startup organization including developing and implementing a marketing plan and digital strategy that supports our mission. Your work will be vital to helping our organization thoughtfully grow in reach and impact with a strong positive brand identity and thought leadership in the AI education space. You will ensure educators, partner organizations, and funders are aware of and connecting with our products and services to adequately prepare for an AI-empowered future.

✅ Your responsibilities will include:


  • Create and execute integrated marketing campaigns tied to key moments throughout the school year and summer, leveraging the full breadth of aiEDU’s communications tools and spokespeople.
  • Partner with aiEDU’s CEO to manage and implement the organization’s brand identity, coordinating with the Learning and Implementation teams, as well as external contractors and designers.
  • Ensure aiEDU is carefully and thoroughly tracking key metrics that illustrate our progress, impact, and success to educators, parents, and funders.
  • Write and edit marketing materials for the External, Implementation, and Learning teams, ensuring consistent language and brand across all pitch decks and new product announcements.

Digital Strategy

  • Manage aiEDU’s website, including the development of new versions and expansions, as well as maintaining content, UX/UI, and tracking analytics.
  • Coordinate and manage external vendors for production of content and web development.
  • Manage aiEDU’s social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms.
  • Partner with Implementation and Learning teams on development of content to support new product rollouts, training programs, and other thought leadership.
  • Identify other digital spaces where aiEDU can build and extend our brand, such as podcasts, animated videos, and new owned web properties (for example, the development of community-focused page(s) on aiEDU’s website).


  • Plan, project-manage, and execute a range of events, including small strategy receptions, leadership roundtables, and national policy summits.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with external event planners and vendors.
  • Partner with Implementation team to support marketing around teacher trainings and other Implementation-led events and partnerships.
  • Track and manage aiEDU’s external events (“out of home marketing”)


  • Author and ghost-write op eds, press releases, and other owned content in collaboration with aiEDU executives.
  • Draft regular newsletters designed for aiEDU’s community of educators and funders.
  • Track Google News alerts for relevant topics in STEM education, AI education, and the AI industry, and package for inclusion in aiEDU newsletters.

Intern Program

  • Stand up and manage aiEDU’s internship program, utilizing interns to support content development, social media management, communications, and other marketing-related tasks.

🚀Our ideal hire likely…

  • Has 5+ years of experience working on marketing and digital strategy for a fast-growing team, ideally with a mix of agency and in-house experience, with bonus points for time spent supporting mission-driven organizations.
  • Has a Bachelor’s degree, or commensurate educational + work experiences.
  • Has worked in a startup environment and is excited to work in a dynamic setting.
  • Has a portfolio and proven track record of successful marketing initiatives with metrics.
  • Is a strong project manager and can balance multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Thrives in uncertainty and embraces opportunities to take on new responsibility.
  • Takes initiative to identify problems and takes timely action to solve them in a creative and collaborative manner.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and incorporating new skills and knowledge as needed by the role.
  • Is passionate about technology and education.
